Material

A tierod is an important link that rigidly connects both steering knuckles on the axle. This tierod has been specifically designed to allow drivers who have increased their maximum steering angle on their SCX24-based rock crawlers. If you're using CVD axle shafts, have trimmed away the stock steering stops and are using oversized differential covers, then this tierod is for you!

Because this tierod is made from a stronger material than stock and most aftermarket options it can be slightly thinner. The front of this tierod is then also pushed out a mere 1mm, but you gain approximately 1.5mm more clearance at full-lock than other popular tierods. The extra weight down low and up forward is usually welcomed by most!

Material:

  • 1.6mm (0.063") 4130 Chromoly Steel
  • 1.6mm (0.063") Brass
  • 1.6mm (0.063") Grade 5 Titanium

Stainless steel rod end balls and o-rings included! (Treal Hobby)

Note: This tierod can currently only be utilized by those with a vertically-driven draglink screw, or if your draglink can be attached to the steering knuckle itself.

Why 4130 Chromoly steel?

  1. nearly twice as heavy as titanium (175%), close to brass in weight
  2. exceptional mechanical properties, heat-treated
  3. corrosion resistance
  4. machinability

Why Brass?

  1. heaviest metal offered (4g of weight right where you want it)
  2. corrosion resistance
  3. appearance

Why Grade 5 Titanium?

  1. strongest material offered
  2. lightweight (2g)
  3. superior corrosion resistance
